Deleting your data, revoking access

Maru stores mail only on your device. If you use the optional Maru account, you can also delete its encrypted vault and account data through the app. Use these controls:

1. Remove an account from Maru

1. Open Maru → Settings (⌘,) → Accounts.
2. Click Remove next to the account, and confirm.

This deletes that account's cached mail, search index entries, and OAuth tokens from your device, and destroys the encryption keys protecting its content in the audit log. Nothing at Google changes — your mailbox is untouched.

2. Revoke Maru's access at Google

1. Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions.
2. Find Maru Mail and click Remove access.

Google immediately invalidates Maru's tokens for that account. Maru will show the account as signed out; remove it in Settings (step 1) to also clear the local copy.

3. Remove Maru entirely

1. Do steps 1–2 for each account.
2. Revoke any agent credentials in Settings → Agents, so nothing can reconnect.
3. Delete the app, and its data folder if you want zero residue:
   macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/dev.wren.app
   Windows: %APPDATA%\dev.wren.app
